Baby corn or Zea mays, biologically, is yellowish and conical vegetable about 4.5-10 cm long and bears numerous small grains on it. In Hindi it is famous as baby makai or chhota makai and is found all over India. The vegetable is bit sweet in taste and can be eaten boiled or baked.
Baby corn’s rich vitamins A and C contents aids in fighting the inflammation, if any, in the body and strengthen the immune response. Growth of new cells and its repairing is checked by dietary consumption of baby corn as per requirement.
Avoid cutting baby corns while cooking as its nutritional benefits can be disturbed.
